Notes for Pre-Season Week 7

In this video Ed devotes a large part of it getting accross the idea that FriendFeed is the most powerful internet marketing tool of the year.

FriendFeed becomes this glue around which your team can base its experiences and you can stay in touch. The more you’re in touch, the more you communicate, and the better relationship you have.

36:40 FriendFeed and Twitter are completely different. Twitter is a distribution platform, whereas FriendFeed is an encyclopaedia of a person’s experiences as they want you to see them.

Welcome to a slimmed down version of the 30DC show notes.

It is not going to be fully exhaustive, but will contain all the points that I think are the most important. I think this will be of particular interest to veterans who may not have the time to watch the whole video but want a condensed down version instead.

5:00 Ed rants about internet explorer. He can’t believe that
anyone serious about internet marketing would still be using such a rubbish
browser as IE.

9:20 Ed shows the TDC toolbar and how convenient it is to
jump to the lessons. He then goes on to explain that Google Expertise is so
powerful and important.

Basically once someone subscribes to your expertise, you get
a 4th place listing in their Google SERPs forever, for all the
keywords you are optimised for.

18:00 Next week on 30DC, Ed will unveil Friend Feed. It’s
hard to understand, but once you get it, it is the most powerful thing. It is
not a Twitter replacement – they do different things.

22:28 Friday July 11th you will not see Ed – he will
be queuing for the new iPhone. Just wait till the application store opens – it will
make telecommunications history. People have missed the point – it’s not about
the hardware, it’s ALL about the software.

A: You have to train your market place to subscribe, but it’s
worth the effort.

Q: Any info on the Mac keyword tool Ed shown in Flickr

A: That might just be a little bit of Friend Feed magic
going on there. I can’t tell you anything about it. I was a very naught boy for
putting that up on Flickr.
