Advanced Persuasion Tactics
I find this blog post fascinating. My sister sells handmade jewelry, but finds it hard to raise her prices. Perhaps this could be the answer.

In this video Ed devotes a large part of it getting accross the idea that FriendFeed is the most powerful internet marketing tool of the year.
Embedded Video 05:00 Ed talks about a really interesting book called “The Brain Rules” 14:30 Ed shows how to add the FriendFeed search engine to your Flock search box 15:40 “What people don’t realise about FriendFeed is that it’s a whole database of people’s experiences on the internet. 17:40 Ed demonstrates the power of using the advanced search in FriendFeed and in particular the Shared from site options. 19:20 It is possible to search just the posts that have been commented on or have been liked – this filters out just the most interesting ones. 20:50 “FriendFeed is the most powerful thing I have shown on the 30DC.” “FriendFeed will get you ranked so highly in Google it’s not funny” 30:20 In a public FriendFeed room, drag the “Share Something” button to your Flock toolbar. Now you can quickly contribute to that FriendFeed room without wasting any time. 32:30 Think about creating a FriendFeed room for your team – what a fantastic resource that would be. 33:50 All of the things Ed is talking about here is a preview to the forthcoming videos lessons on the 30DC. FriendFeed becomes this glue around which your team can base its experiences and you can stay in touch. The more you’re in touch, the more you communicate, and the better relationship you have. 36:40 FriendFeed and Twitter are completely different. Twitter is a distribution platform, whereas FriendFeed is an encyclopaedia of a person’s experiences as they want you to see them. 38:30 “There are only two types of things [online] there are pipes and the stuff that flows through the pipes. As marketers, only those two things matter. If you try to be both, it won’t work – you have to be one or the other. That is what it’s all about in marketing.” 39:50 Next week we are going to start focusing on teams. Another amazing book to read is “Group Genius”. In the 30DC context, a team is a group of people that commit to communicating together. 41:40 Ed explains that following a step by step process is not the hard part, it’s the emotional part that is the obstacle. The number one antidote is being in a team. The most effective teams are the ones from very diverse backgrounds. Tags: ThirtyDay Challenge Show Notes

Welcome to a slimmed down version of the 30DC show notes.
It is not going to be fully exhaustive, but will contain all the points that I think are the most important. I think this will be of particular interest to veterans who may not have the time to watch the whole video but want a condensed down version instead.
Embedded Video 5:00 Ed rants about internet explorer. He can’t believe that anyone serious about internet marketing would still be using such a rubbish browser as IE. 9:20 Ed shows the TDC toolbar and how convenient it is to jump to the lessons. He then goes on to explain that Google Expertise is so powerful and important. Basically once someone subscribes to your expertise, you get a 4th place listing in their Google SERPs forever, for all the keywords you are optimised for. 18:00 Next week on 30DC, Ed will unveil Friend Feed. It’s hard to understand, but once you get it, it is the most powerful thing. It is not a Twitter replacement – they do different things. 22:28 Friday July 11th you will not see Ed – he will be queuing for the new iPhone. Just wait till the application store opens – it will make telecommunications history. People have missed the point – it’s not about the hardware, it’s ALL about the software. 25:00 JR30dc asks: Hi Ed, you talk about 2 methods you are split testing and you will only use one in the Thirty Day Challenge. Will you reveal the alternate method that misses the cut. Ans: No – only on the Immediate Edge. 26:00 Ed drops a strong hint that this year the 30dc will be using www.marketsamurai.com Q: will you go deeper into Google Subscriber links. Google Subscriber will only work if they subscribe to it. A: You have to train your market place to subscribe, but it’s worth the effort. Q: How many Immediate Edge members are there? A: Why is that relevant? 29:35 Q: will you be showing how to set up our own subscriptions in Google Subscriber? A: In the Immediate Edge we will. Q: Any info on the Mac keyword tool Ed shown in Flickr A: That might just be a little bit of Friend Feed magic going on there. I can’t tell you anything about it. I was a very naught boy for putting that up on Flickr. Q: Is Ed going to give away cartman [toy]? A: I will give away Cartman over my cold dead body! Q: Is there a specific address Ed can be reached at? A: Yes, Twitter using @Ed_Dale Tags: ShowNotes thirty day challenge preseason
